Dhurandhar: The Revenge has submitted its album and eight individual songs – nine entries in all – for consideration across eight categories at the 69th Grammy Awards, presented by the Recording Academy to recognise excellence in music. Music company T-Series and production house B62 Studios are now running a “For Your Consideration” (FYC) campaign for the soundtrack of Aditya Dhar’s magnum opus. Composer Shashwat Sachdev’s album has been a runaway success at home, amassing millions of streams across platforms, with voices including Arijit Singh, Jasmine Sandlas, Reble, Satinder Sartaaj and Jubin Nautiyal on the tracks submitted.
India’s history with the Grammys has sitar legend Ravi Shankar’s win in 1968, tabla maestro Zakir Hussain’s one win in 1992 and three more in 2024 (one of them with his Indo-Western jazz group Shakti.) A. R. Rahman brought home two of the gramophone trophies for Slumdog Millionaire in 2010, one for the film’s soundtrack and one for “Jai Ho.” Released in 2021, Mimi’s album was submitted for the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category at the 64th Grammys, however it did not get nominated.
Other Indian submissions this year include Rashmeet Kaur (Parinda for Best Global Album), Charulatha Mani (“Uyirthee” for Song of the Year and Best Global Music Performance), Agam (“The Ascension” for Best Global Music Performance and Best Arrangement) and Hargun Kaur (Surrender for Best Chant Album).
However, a submission is not a nomination. Here’s what lies next for the makers.
What has Dhurandhar: The Revenge submitted for?
The team behind Dhurandhar: The Revenge has spread its bets across nine entries in eight fields rather than backing one headline category. That gives voters in film, pop, global, rap and dance a reason to hear the music. It has not entered the General Field’s “big four” (Record, Album, Song of the Year and Best New Artist).
These are the submitted tracks and the categories they’re competing in:
- Dhurandhar: The Revenge (album): Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media
- “Phir Se”: Best Song Written for Visual Media
- “Aari Aari”: Best Asian Pop Music Performance
- “Jaan Se Guzarte Hain”: Best Global Music Performance
- “Kanhaiyya”: Best Global Music Performance
- “Jaiye Sajana”: Best Pop Duo/Group Performance
- “Destiny – Mann Atkeya”: Best Rap Performance
- “Vaari Jaavan”: Best Dance/Electronic Recording
- “Hum Pyaar Karne Wale”: Best Remixed Recording
How Do The Grammys Work?
The Grammys are the music industry’s most recognised awards, with winners decided by peer vote, not by sales or streams. Voting is done by the Recording Academy’s voting body of nearly 13,000 music professionals. It happens in two rounds: the first decides the nominees, and the second picks the winners.
| Date | Stage |
| October 12-22 2026 | First-round voting, to decide nominees |
| November 16, 2026 | Nominees announced |
| December 10, 2026 – January 7, 2027 | Final-round voting, to decide winners |
| February 7, 2027 | The 69th Grammy Awards |
What Is An “FYC” Campaign?
The first step to reach the Grammys stage is an online submission. Academy members and registered media companies enter recordings online, during a window that ran from July 7 to August 21, 2026. Only recordings released between August 31, 2025 and August 28, 2026 are eligible for the 2027 ceremony’s submissions.
The second is the “For Your Consideration” (FYC) campaign, which runs right after submission and concludes when the nominees are announced (November 16, 2026). It is marketing aimed at voting members, through ads, mailers, listening sessions and social posts, to get a record in front of them and maximise its chances of being shortlisted for nominations. The Grammys have a list of do’s and don’ts for this stage.
What Comes Next?
First-round voting is already under way, so campaigning is at its peak. The five nominees – with the exception of eight for Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist – for the rest of the categories will be announced on November 16. If nominated, the makers will head to Los Angeles for The Grammy Awards in February 2027.
