1. Diljit Dosanjh announces a new show in Ahmedabad in November 

In his signature style, Diljit Dosanjh announced the homecoming show for his Aura World Tour from the stage – while performing at Wembley Stadium in London. To be held on November 21, the concert venue is Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, making the Punjabi artist the first Indian one to headline a show at the world’s largest stadium. British rock band Coldplay famously performed two shows at the venue in January 2025. Tickets for the concert start from Rs 999, with bookings opening on September 28 on BookMyShow. 

2. Nagpur rapper Prathamesh wins Legacy Season 1

Prathamesh Raut, aka Prathamesh, is a Nagpur rapper who was crowned the winner of the first season of ZEE5’s Legacy on September 18. Legacy is a rap talent competition helmed by rappers Raftaar and KR$NA after the runaway success of a similar show, MTV’s Hustle. A fan favourite throughout the competition, Prathamesh emerged as the Season 1 winner from a pool of 17 contestants after a two-part grand finale.

3. Cornerstone Music signs Raja Kumari and Quake as the first artists 

Indian talent management agency Cornerstone launched its music vertical, Cornerstone Music this week. Helmed by CEO Bunty Sajdeh, the agency has signed rapper, singer and songwriter Raja Kumari and Punjabi hip-hop artist Quake as its first talent. 

4. Universal Music Group and Sony have filed a fresh suit against Suno 

The battle between music labels Universal Music Group, Sony Entertainment and AI music company Suno over music rights is a long one. In early September, Suno launched ‘V6’, a label-led music creation model in partnership with groups like Warner Music Group and Believe. However, the fresh lawsuit filed against Suno claims the new model is “fruit of the same poisoned tree.”

5. Shashwat Sachdev wins his second National Film Award for Article 370 

At the 72nd National Film Awards, Shashwat Sachdev received his second national award – this time for ‘Best Music Direction (Songs)’ for the film Article 370. He had previously won for ‘Best Background Music’ for Uri: The Surgical Strike. While the recipients for this year were announced in July, the ceremony was held on September 22.
