Beat Drop: “Tu Mil Jaaye” from Shah Rukh Khan’s KING

Ed Sheeran’s pop-rap cadence meets Arijit Singh’s emotive delivery in this Nov 2 release

Beat Drop: “Tu Mil Jaaye” from Shah Rukh Khan’s KING

Today’s Beat Drop features “Tu Mil Jaaye”, the first song from Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film KING. The November 2 release coincides with the star’s 61st birthday. Composed by Sachin-Jigar, the track brings together Arijit Singh and Ed Sheeran in a dance-pop arrangement.

The partnership between the two main vocalists began with Sheeran’s “Sapphire” on his 2025 album Play. Singh’s vocals feature on the bridge, and Khan has a cameo in the music video. A multilingual remix of the song with fresh vocals from Singh, blending Hindi, Punjabi and English, followed a month after the original. Sheeran had also earlier surprised the audience at Singh’s sold-out O2 Arena show in London 2024, joining him on stage for a duet of his hit “Perfect”.

“Tu Mil Jaaye” is the latest installment in their collaboration history. Opening with Khan’s dialogues from the film, the track moves into Sheeran’s English verse and a soaring chorus before Singh takes over. Propulsive drums and bright, riff-driven guitars carry the arrangement as a dancefloor-ready pop anthem, with the latter half lifted by Madhubanti Bagchi’s bold vocals and a rap verse from Sheeran.

The visual interleaves narrative shots from the film with the developing story of its two leads, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone, alongside the song’s choreography.

KING is scheduled for a worldwide cinema release on 24 December 2026.
